If you feel like you are struggling with your mental health, it might be time to see a counselor. Mental health counseling can be so beneficial to the mind and body. Therapy teaches people how to best cope with symptoms that are not always as easily treated with medication. Medication can help, but therapy will teach you skills to help you improve in the long term. If you are unsure whether or not you should see a therapist, here are some signs that may help you decide:

You Feel Constant Fatigue

Feeling tired is normal, especially if you are busy with work, family, and life in general. However, if you are excessively fatigued, this can be a manifestation of mental health issues. Depression is commonly associated with constant fatigue.

You Feel Overwhelmed

Feeling overwhelmed can also indicate a mental health issue. Being too busy is common for many people, but the feelings caused by being overwhelmed can be difficult to cope with. You might feel like you cannot deal with all the tasks you need to accomplish. Stress is often common when you feel overwhelmed. You may get to the point where you are unable to comfortably rest or have trouble catching your breath. All of these symptoms may mean it is time to seek help.

You Don't Want to Leave Your Home

Those who feel confined to their homes or who are panicked at the thought of leaving their safe space could benefit from seeing a mental health counselor. You may feel trapped or frozen due to fear or sadness.

You Feel Angry or Resentful

It is normal to have feelings of anger or resentment at times. However, anger that is disproportionate to the issue can be problematic. It could lead to violent action on your part. If you have these feelings and you cannot seem to get beyond them, you need to seek therapy to help you deal with your anger and resentment.

You Feel Anxious

Worrying about certain things is a normal part of life. But if you feel constant worry about everything to the point it intrudes on your daily life, you might need to seek help. Anxiety can drain you and can even result in physical symptoms.

You Have Feelings of Hopelessness

If you feel like you are losing motivation or feel like your future outlook is poor, you may be dealing with a serious mental health problem. You may feel like you have no hope or reason to continue on with life. This is serious, as it can lead to suicide. Be sure to get mental health therapy right away if you are experiencing these feelings.
